Toulon, la plus belle rade d'Europe.
Still accessible compared to departments bordering the French Riviera, the Var offers an exceptionnal quality of life through proximity to the sea and at a rate of sunshine among the highest in Europe. In Mediterranean type climate varois is, in fact, characterized by warm temperatures in summer and mild in winter. Between Marseille and Saint-Tropez, Toulon, the first city to the west of the Côte d'Azur has the most beautiful harbour in Europe, surrounded peninsulas of Giens and Saint-Mandrier-sur-mer.
Work of Baron Haussmann, who was prefect of the Var, senior city enjoys a remarkable architecture with the points of organ, the Liberty place, the Justice Palace, the railway station and the Opera constructed by Garnier. Celebrated by Gilbert Bécaud, in the song Provence markets, the market Lafayette animes downtown. The historic centre of Toulon is in full renaissance. The free urban zone, urban center without taxation, alone in the world boosts the local economy and attracts many businesses and liberal professions.

Among the main areas are: North Claret, Siblas, at the bottom of the hill of Mont Faron and Lices quarter, headquarters of the Prefecture of the Var and the General Council and the Ortolans in Lower Faron where view plunges to the sea, to the west, the popular neighborhoods of Bon-Rencontre, Quatre-chemins-des-routes, the Pont-du-Las attracting first-time buyers seeking affordable ; northwest, residential neighbourhoods, such as roads, to the east, Saint-Jean-du-var, extended by Brunet which hosts civilian hospital from Font-Pre and Sainte Musse, rapidly developing area with the future hospital. A Toulon, the most desirable areas are situated on the seafront : Mourillon and its fishermen's houses, its market, antique stores and the Cap Brun, value where there are the most beautiful properties in front of the sea as Faron, which offers an exceptional view of the bay. Behind Cap Brun, and la Serinette, the Ameniers also provides a framework appreciated.
On the outskirts of Toulon, the Valette-du-var is valued for its historic centre and his side village. On the hill, which dominates the Coudon, the district of Calabro offers a green setting to villas with swimming pools enjoying a dominant view. The Garde is a city prized by young professionals. The proximity of the Faculty of Law is a stimulating. The plots are located more towards the Crau and Cuers, through the Farlède then Solliès-Toucas. The land is scarce and expensive, certain assets tend to relocate to the outskirts of Toulon, beyond Cuers, Garéoult, Brignoles.
The second homes flourish in the hinterland with character homes, farmhouses and country houses of Provence. On the sea front, there is, in the east, the Pradet and its beaches, Hyères-les-palmiers, its medieval centre and its Victorian districts, with, off the Giens peninsula, the islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros, Levant island, a paradise for tourists. There is also, among the cities of coastal resorts, Carqueiranne and its architecture of the resort. To the west, Six-Fours-les-plages, Sanary-sur-mer, pretty colorful fishing port, and Bandol are full of tourists each summer. At the Seyne-sur-mer, in the midst of palm trees, Tamaris draws since the 19th century, the flower of the Paris of arts and literature : George Sand to which this site seemed more beautiful than the Bosphorus to Colette. Michel Pacha, frequent traveler and manufacturer fell in love with this place for the election which became, under his leadership, a famous seaside resort.
